acceptable stay with some drawbacks
cramped bathroompoor sound insulation
The bathroom felt cramped (like a tiny airplane lavatory). the hand basin was small and made washing difficult. sound insulation seemed poor. I could clearly hear other guests moving around. also, wi-fi was advertised, but it wasn't accessible from my room, requiring me to go to the bar to connect.

Solid Rural Stay
tractor assistancewarm roomcozy roomcomfortable bed
The staff got my car started with a tractor and jump leads. I appreciated that assistance a lot. The room was warm and cozy. The bed was very comfortable too.
The portions in the restaurant were generous exceeding expectations from the menu description. My steak and chips included onion rings grilled tomatoes and salad a pleasant surprise. I appreciated the peaceful atmosphere at night despite the location near a main road. The provided fan was a great touch.
The shower room was very small making it a bit inconvenient to move around freely. The sink size was also limited.

The location is near a woodland offering stone-path walks. It is easily accessible and near the Forest of Dean. The setting is peaceful despite its proximity to a main road.
Service
10/10
The staff members were friendly and helpful making the stay pleasant. They promptly arranged for my dietary requests. The check-in and check-out process was easy contributing to a smooth experience.
The evening meal was excellent. The breakfast was also great. The staff was friendly. We even had a balcony from our room.
The bathroom was tiny. It had no extractor fan. The tiny sink also had no plug. It was almost unusable.
